Keywords: Mould is the basic processing equipment of automobile industry. In the production of car, above 90% of them need mould. However, in the development of global auto mould, the technology of mould presents the following three trends.

1.Digital mold technology has become the mainstream

Recently, the rapid development of digital mold technology is the effective way to solve many problems faced in the development of auto mould.

The so-called digital mold technology is that computer technology or computer aided CAX technology is applied in the mold design and manufacturing process. Summarizing the successful computer aided technology application experience of the domestic and foreign auto mould enterprise, digital auto mould technology mainly includes the following aspects:

(1)      Design For Manufacturability (DFM), namely consider the manufacturability when designing and analyzing and guarantee the success of the process;

(2)      Develop the assistive technology and intelligent technology of the mold profile design;

(3)       the CAE auxiliary analysis and simulation of stamping process; predict and solve the problem of possible defects and forming;

(4)      Structure design: 3D replace the traditional 2D;

(5)      CAPP, CAM, and CAT technology used in mould manufacturing process;      

(6)      under the technical instruction of digital processing to solve problems arising from the test process and stamping production.

2.The status of Mould 3d design has been consolidated

The mould 3d design which is an important content of digital mold technology is the basis of integrating mould design, manufacture and inspection. Japanese company Toyota, America company GM which have applied the mould 3d design have obtained the good effect of application. Some ways of foreign mould 3d design is worth of our reference. Besides actualizing the integrated manufacturing, mould 3d design is easy to interference analysis which solves a difficult problem in the 2 d design.

3.The function of stamping process simulation CAE highlights

In recent years, with the rapid development of computer software and hardware, stamping forming process of CAE simulation technology plays an increasing important role. In the United States, Japan, Germany and other developed countries, CAE technology which has become a necessary link in die design and manufacturing process, is widely used to predict the forming defects, optimize stamping process and mould structure. It improves the reliability of the mold design and reduces the test time.
Many China auto mould enterprise also made significant progress in the application of CAE, and obtained the good effect. Application of CAE technology which can greatly save the cost of test, shorten the development cycle of stamping die has become an important means to ensure the quality of the mould.
