It is reported that lego is equipped with more than 1000 injection molding machines in its Denmark,Mexico and Hungary factories, while only about 5000 moulds will be used for forproduction. Now Lego is building factory in Jiaxing,China, and it is expectedto full production in 2017.Lego company will invest 1 billion Danish crowns($152.3 million) and add more than 100 employees, in search of sustainablematerials to replace currently used ABS plastic in lego.

As Jorgen Vig Knudstorp who is the President and CEO of lego company says, the change is to reduce carbon emissions and improve the earth's environment. The idea is great, however the challenge is huge. Lego has used ABS plastic to manufacture its iconic building blocks since 1960s.Last year alone more than 60 million building blocks were produced in lego. So it remains to be seen whether ABS really would be replaced successfully.
